My questions for the pregnant man

Let’s imagine.

I am desperate wanting to have a child but I cannot have children. While reading the paper, I come across with an article that explains a procedure that would allow my husband/boyfriend to get pregnant. Would I ask a man to get pregnant for me??

Hell No!!

My concerns with this pregnant man have nothing to do with Christianity or morality. When it comes down to it, we all have the right to make our own choices. However, the behavior of Thomas Beatie (pregnant man) poses questions on the credibility of transsexuality and gender roles in contemporary culture.

There was a young girl that felt like a boy. She felt such passion that decided to change her appearance by wearing different clothes, acting more masculine, and modify her name. Not feeling adequate enough, she opt for a different transformation by taking testosterone to deepen her voice, get more muscles, facial hair, among some of the alterations that testosterone bring to the female body. Thomas decided to go through an operation to remove her breast. All in her quest to find himself in a body. After 6 years without a menstruation, she gets pregnant.

My question: What is your conception of a man?

In terms of gender, conceiving is the one thing that separate females from males. (Even menstruation can be seen as a case of hemorrhoids)

I wonder if her years of hormonal plays will affect the development of the child.

I wish people would just call him the pregnant tranny... People are getting so worked up over this because of his gender identity...

It's clear that he doesn't really have one.

Well....what exactly is the big deal?
First of all, this "man" is not a naturalized by birth male. It's no surprise that "he" is able to conceive. So, she is a male because she had her breasts removed and is taking male hormones? Maybe she is a man, but she is not a male; the difference does exist within gender identity. She still (at least to my knowledge) has ovaries and a vagina in which to receive spermicidal injections for birth...so what makes this so controversial?...if we take out morals and ethics, what are we left with? Society is way too close minded to handle something like this. Yes, perhaps psychologically or any other reason...she feels that she was supposed to be born a male...just as many gays and lesbians do not believe that their sexual identity is not a choice. What is the difference with a trans gendered person doing what she is doing?
Ethically, I'm not really sure how you are not allowed to clone humans, but doctors will inseminate a female trying to be male. There is never really much logic in the ethical framework in this country...or anywhere else for that matter. We always choose our battles here.
Now, if this person was actually born a male, then I could see the anomaly in all of this hoopla.

my 2 cents.
